The document for the connect snippet says:
Value0 = Previous item vnum
Value1 = Next item vnum
Value2 = Final Obj vnum

For example you have 3 items top(200) bottom(201) and staff(202)

200 would have v1 = 201
               v2 = 202

201 would have v0 = 200
               v2 = 202

202 is the final product

But the code says differently:
  if ( ( first_ob->value[0] == second_ob->pIndexData->vnum )
  && ( second_ob->value[0] == first_ob->pIndexData->vnum )
  && ( first_ob->value[1] == second_ob->value[1]  )
  && ( first_ob->pIndexData->vnum != second_ob->pIndexData->vnum ) )

No one has ever come across this?

I know lots of people have used the code, judging by the download count. I however have not actually played with it myself so I don't know if it works as intended or not. I suppose I otta now :)

Not sure how long ago I added in the connect code but heres how mine works, not sure if or when I changed mine just showing how mines set to do lol.
Item 1
Value0 or Value1 = Item 2 vnum
Value2 = Item vnum formed when combined
Item 2
Value0 or Value1 = Item 1 vnum
Value2 = Item vnum formed when combined

Mines probably some outdated but its probably similar just depends on how its been changed since I downloaded and installed it. But from the looks of the code for it it looks like your right and the doc is wrong to a point. Yours should look like this

Item 1
Value0 = Item 2 vnum
Value1 = <number>
Value2 = Item vnum formed when combined
Item 2
Value0 = Item 1 vnum
Value1 = <number>
Value2 = Item vnum formed when combined

The value1 of each item has to match seems like its just an extra check to make
sure they should connect. I guess so you could do a couple different kinds or something lol.
