I haven't tried this on a stock Smaug, but there is a small problem in dns.c in the Resolver snippet. Its missing an include

if you get problems with undefined, perror, FILE, etc, add this line to your includes at the top

#include <stdio.h>

In a stock Smaug mud.h includes stdio.h already and so that wasn't necessary to add. The advice is sound though on a Smaug in which that include is no longer present in mud.h.
