If hotboot is unable to read in some saved objects(like when you remove an area file, for example) it bugs and returns, but does not unlink the files, in this place:
   if ( ( room = get_room_index( vnum ) ) == NULL )
   {
	bug( "read_obj_file: ARGH! Missing room index for %d!", vnum );
	return;
   }
Is this intentional for debugging purposes, or a simple oversight?

Oversight, but it could be used for debug purposes if you wanted to I suppose. I'd just go ahead and unlink them. They won't be of any use.
