Just a token post for June to show smaug is not dead, maybe bleeding all over the place with the other mud codebases, but ...

Hi

Vladaar

Ok terribly lame. Heh.

Certainly not dead, doubt even bleeding. Maturing is probably about it. Other codebases seem to have stopped before they hit puberty :P

Actually, you guys may be the only remaining active Dikurivative maintainers. ROM is dead, and I only see people trying to C++ify it, not really evolve it. I guess Circle is still around in the hands of the TBA people. I see them release something every so often. I remember an ACKfuss, which may still be around. Are there any others?

On the LP side, Dead Souls is the main contender for FluffOS. Gurba keeps up the DGD end. I haven't seen any public release of a mudlib for LDMUD in years.

Are the TinyMUSH people still around?

That's all I can remember of the "old guard". There are some newcomers using ruby/python and such, but so far most of them aren't ready to build a production MUD with. I might be wrong about NakedMUD, haven't looked at it in a while...

Yeah, pretty much. TBA is still active, as is ACKFUSS. I take it the RaM project went defunct? The svn is still here but I don't even know if the user the account is under is around anymore. Aside from that, and us here, I don't know of any Diku bases that are still publicly maintained.

I've never known much about what goes on in LPland but the only project I ever see talked about anymore is Dead Souls, so Crat seems to be the lone soldier in that fight now. I don't think he's doing driver stuff, just mudlib.

No idea about TinyMUSH, never looked into it.

Crat maintains the Dead Souls lib for the FluffOS driver which I believe is maintained by Wodan of Discworld. But I've only recently started paying attention to the LP side of things, so I might have the wrong name with FluffOS.

FluffOS is right. Wodan (I believe) forked it from MudOS because the last known maintainer (Marius, I believe) was pretty much inactive. Discworld is still alive and kicking, although they only release public mudlibs once in a blue moon. :)

DGD, and LDMUD are two other LPMUD drivers. I think Gurba is the only actively worked on mudlib for DGD, and I don't know of any active public mudlibs for LD, although I know BatMUD runs on LDMUD, and it's one of the big guns with 100+ players at any given time.

I think someone is still poking at the corpse of RaM, but I know I haven't touched it in almost a year.

Don't forget AwakeMUD (Shadowrun), I'm sure thats also a Dikurivative, semi-fairly maintained.
