Any thoughts on adding the code widget used over at ackmud.net and now at qsfportal.com?

I'd seen the widget there on Kline's site before and meant to ask him how he did it when I looked at the HTML source and realized it was a Google widget. So I went to Google and picked up the information. It works nicely, though it was a pain to get the CSS to behave with the black theme.

We'd need one for each repository and I'd need to set WebSVN up behind the scenes first to have access to the info but I think it would be a nice addition to the front page. Unless I'm on drugs?

BTW, the default response if nobody cares enough to mention one way or the other is going to be to put these in.

I like it, so sure. I wouldn't put it on just the front page, though. A small version near the recent posts/uploads would be nice.

I don't think the widget would fit inside the navblocks on the left.

I think it's a good idea. But I don't know how well it'll work since we have 3 bases under SVN, maybe more.

It's cute, but I guess depending on the information it'll display will it prove useful or not. Great to display bugfixes and announce new version releases, even recent updates (to take David's idea) or along those lines (I don't think it's necessary for recent posts)

Otherwise, something like, for example;

Rev 550 -- Minor edit so I can update at work.

the regular users here wouldn't really care about.

True, the usefulness of a widget like that relies on putting in good log entries. I'm as guilty as anyone of producing crap log entries on an SVN commit.

It's true that as long as we have the bug fix announcements, it's unclear what the code changes will indicate that aren't already being indicated. I suppose it could give you a link to the revision diff (can it do that?).

The link takes you to the revision info screen in WebSVN, which has a link to compare with the previous revision.
