save.c (SmaugFUSS 1.9) uses str_cmp and strcmp interchangeably when loading files.
str_cmp is not case sensitive, strcmp is.
People altering fields might assume case insensitivity and end up hitting a strcmp instead.
(Yes, I know, it's not really a bug, but it bugs me, so it might bug other people)
KEY() uses str_cmp, so that's probably what should be used.
It might be desirable to have things like PLAYER, OBJECT, and END case sensitive, so here's a list of what isn't, not including things like those:
Meanwhile, things like VARIABLE use str_cmp() even though you might expect that to be case-sensitive.
