Heya , me again.

Questions about locks and keys.

When you create a door, and you have a locked flag on it, and then you create a key - you tell it what room it unlocks

Do I also have to create a lock object, and do an instaroom to get the lock inserted into the door ?

Thanks
Kilroy

No. In the redit command should be an option to tell the exit the door represents to use a certain vnum for its key. You don't need to tell the key anything about it.

To go a bit deeper...

redit exkey

The key doesn't have to exsist either... so be careful ;)

You'd also need:

redit exflags isdoor closed locked

This will make it a closed and locked door.

Also these optional flags: pickproof, nopassdoor, and bashproof

So, in theory a door set isdoor closed locked pickproof nopassdoor bashproof -- would be ONLY unlockable via the key set in exkey (Or if an Immortal decided to remove the 'locked' or 'closed' flag ;) )
