hello again

I have installed AFKMUD 1.7 C version on my Kubuntu Linux Os environment.
I have compiled it and all seemed running normally,
but when I try to create a new simple character to play the game...the mud crashes in the
final part of the creation characted tutorial.
Moreover If I log in the mud with the admin character I was not able to go in the map...just only
in few locations of the starting point where the admin characted log in.

Have I made some mistakes?Have I forgotten to do something?

I can't think of anything off hand, but if you're only just now coming to the AFKMud table why not grab the 2.0x version instead? There's a whole heap of fixes and major improvements made since 1.7 was considered current.

If you're looking to stick with the C version, perhaps using 1.8 would be a better choice. You didn't say specifically which 1.7 release you grabbed.

Today at 19:00 Sunday 9th March I have installed AFKMUD 1.8 December 2006 release on my Kubuntu linux OS environment
I compiled it and all went right.I logged with the Admin account and I tried to change password to that account but I was not able...Can you help me?

I also tried to create a simple player game to check the game...I successfully created a cleric level 1...I arrived to the advancemob and gained second level,then I approved the pg name with the admin account...now the question is...How Can I access the game map?because in the advance room there are not any exits...Can you help me?

Changing the password on any player should be as simple as logging that player on, and typing password <new> <repeat>

The map is available for viewing by typing: goto map one 500 500 which should take you to the first continent, dead center on the grid. You'll be in a small area that does little more than demonstrate how Overland looks.

I tried the command goto map one 500 500 with the admin account...and the mud reports:

There isn't a map for one

Are you sure I don't have to make something more in order to access the map?

I successfully entered astral plane and the void...first looking the vnumb with the command zones

but when I tried Eletar continent from room vnumb 51499 with the only visible exit DOWN
the mud gave me a strange description...that reports this:

If you can read this description on-line then something really bad has happened .... etc etc
