The weather snippet is a cool release no doubt about it. I would however advise a stronger disclaimer.

It took me approximately 3 hours to install it, to find out it didn't work with gcc compiler.
I spent another week converting my code to g++ compiler.
Only to find out load_buildlist and resets killed it when you tried to start the game.

I think it is only usable by smaugfuss unless you want to spend days converting your codebase.

For now I've added an additional warning to the description for the code. I was not aware that it is somehow dependent on the new reset system.

It shouldn't be dependent on resets... Its not dependent on ANYTHING. It's its own entity. As encapsulated as C will allow. There are other systems that look to it for information, but it doesn't look to anything else. Only thing it access outside of itself is the area data for the room the character is in.

It would appear that you might have made some sort of mistake somewhere, especially if the buildlist and resets are screwing up the weather.

For some reason it doesn't like it because of this ... Which confuses me greatly, because smaugfuss still has those weather calls in it's release with weather snippet.

25. Find: void load_buildlist( void )
Locate and Remove the following:
CREATE( pArea->weather, WEATHER_DATA, 1 ); /* FB */
pArea->weather->temp = 0;
pArea->weather->precip = 0;
pArea->weather->wind = 0;
pArea->weather->temp_vector = 0;
pArea->weather->precip_vector = 0;
pArea->weather->wind_vector = 0;
pArea->weather->climate_temp = 2;
pArea->weather->climate_precip = 2;
pArea->weather->climate_wind = 2;
pArea->weather->first_neighbor = NULL;
pArea->weather->last_neighbor = NULL;
pArea->weather->echo = NULL;
pArea->weather->echo_color = AT_GREY;

Where the above was removed, Add:
pArea->weatherx = 0;
pArea->weathery = 0;

The snippet does say that (if your saying it shouldn't because yours doesn't)
The current release as far as what he posted is the way the snippet said to do it (if that's what your saying)
That is what I have in the copy I downloaded the other day (I haven't tried to install it)

I was referring to the SmaugFUSS 1.9. The copy of FUSS I have doesn't have the CREATE( etc... in it.

Llarn claimed that a copy of FUSS 1.9 had the CEATE( etc ) stuff from the old weather system still in it. But Remcon and I both grabbed fresh copies and neither one of ours had the CREATE( etc ) Stuff in it.

Ah, gotcha. Yeah, I just checked the master copy to be sure and the section she mentions is not there either.

Kayle,

Can you explain more in detail how to use your weather code? I have it installed, and the help files added, but I still have no clue on what you I am supposed to do. With the x and y corridnates I'm assuming I am supposed to make a map of some sort. However, its left very vauge on what to do. Do I make a map for each zone, or a world map? The syntax of setweather leaves me wondering too.

Are you referring to the Weather How-To File? or did that mistakenly get left out of the snippet? Speaking of which, I need to upload the updated version while I'm thinking of it.
