hey there im new to this forum but ive been working on with a smaug mud for sometime now. i just installed the hotboot code from this website. now.. the code works and it hotboots fine, however the colors on the mud are a little screwy.. it wont parse any of the inline pcolors. nothing is colored unless its color in the code via "set_char_color()" other then that there is no color whereas booting it normally works fine.
thanks

Interesting. Not sure how the hotboot code could affect the color parser since the two aren't related. You using any color code that saves custom values to the player's pfile? That would be the only way I could see it going screwy was if those values all got set to 0 or something.

i've been looking at the hotboot code and i cant figure it out.. ive even tried to change the order of the hotboot recovery and loading the colors but it still doesnt seem to be doing anything. other then that i really cant figure it out. i have smaug 1.4 with Sadiq's color fix so as far as i know not color info gets saved to the pfile
thanks

I never did like the colorize command. But I doubt very much that it has anything to do with what broke. I'm not sure how hotboot could interfere with the color system, but stranger things have happened.
