Greetings all, I was playing with AFKmud, tried Makeclan, it seems to be bugged..

When you make a clan set it all up like it wants.. mud will crash once its done.

and then when you boot the mud back up.. You get a log of:

Log: [*****] BUG: Str_cmp: null bstr.

I don't know why this is happening, but it is.. its kinda strange.. :(

If anyone knows how to fix this maybe, that'd be nice..

Peace.

A legit bug it seems.

There's two ways to fix this. Some would say that going into afk_who and testing the leadrank/onerank/tworank would be best... and by all means this might as well be done along with my other suggestion.

This is going into clans.c, and under do_makeclan, plopping these down where it sets the leader:

    clan->onerank       = STRALLOC( "Lieutenant" );
    clan->tworank       = STRALLOC( "2nd Lieutenant" );
    clan->leadrank      = STRALLOC( "Leader" );

Couse, use your own words. I just happen to like those. ;)

I prefer to do this, since most guilds and clans want a rank anyway. :)

You can obviously use gdb... why not print out various variables and see what exactly is causing the crash?

First off, it's generally far more productive to post AFK bugs to our forums vs posting them here.

Secondly, this has been fixed and will be out with the next patch update.
