act_wiz.c function do_bestow
find
   char arg[MAX_INPUT_LENGTH], buf[MAX_STRING_LENGTH], arg_buf[MAX_STRING_LENGTH];
   CHAR_DATA *victim;

change it to this
   char arg[MAX_INPUT_LENGTH], buf[MAX_STRING_LENGTH], arg_buf[MAX_STRING_LENGTH];
   char tmparg[MAX_INPUT_LENGTH];
   CHAR_DATA *victim;

then find
      snprintf( arg, MAX_INPUT_LENGTH, "%s ", arg );
      mudstrlcat( arg_buf, arg, MAX_INPUT_LENGTH );
      argument = one_argument( argument, arg );

change it to this
      snprintf( tmparg, MAX_INPUT_LENGTH, "%s ", arg );
      mudstrlcat( arg_buf, tmparg, MAX_STRING_LENGTH );
      argument = one_argument( argument, arg );

This makes it so do_bestow actually works correctly and uses the right size for arg_buf
