Has anyone managed to build the Alsherok project using a Microsoft (ahem) compiler? If so, has anyone got some project files they can share?

I'm not sure this would even be possible since Microsoft compilers don't tend to support Linux specific code such as the BFD functions. This is likely to sound callous to some, but we generally could care less if the code works at all in Windows. It was never designed to be run that way, so we never intended to see to it that it worked. Your best possible chance to make it work would be to download and install Cygwin and try it there. I'm not sure if Cygwin has BFD support yet, but if that support shows up anywhere for Windows, it'll be there.

I'll confirm that; BFD isn't in the Windows library (atleast I haven't found it ye =.

Cygwin includes a BFD library with it... but it doesn't work (go figure...) if you actually search the Cygwin distro you will find a bfd.h file; and I believe a liberty (libirty?).h file also.

It just doesn't seem to work... and I wouldn't suggest trying to port a solely written codebase from Linux to Windows (or Cygwin even) without prior knowledge... it's a pain in the ass .
