was wondering if you could send me a copy of your bfd.h, libbfd.a, libiberty.h, and libiberty.a files so i can find out just what is missing under cygwin. they also have some of the bfd code split into the libintl header and library. it's all screwy but i am still trying

Heh, I would. But those files are all system specific and don't work outside the environment they were generated for. One can only imagine the mess that would make in another environment.

i'm not going to compile with them i just need them to check against cygwin's so i can find out just what is missing. i believe that once i find out whats missing i'll be able to recompile the cygwin tools with the changes and finally get it to work.

I'll have to do some digging then to figure out where it's at. But things it includes may still be system specific and not apply to what Cygwin is expecting from it. I would have thought by now they'd have a port of the binutils package for it.

Heh.. if you want to REALLY see if you can get them to work and see whats missing you need to find the source distribution, that'll have probably a Configuration script which will skim through and check what is and isn't there. Even if it doesn't you can prolly work out whats missing from the errors.

Off the top of my head I dunno where the source is, but if you hunt around for the appropriate version of binutils source code it'll be out there somewhere.
