Ok, some of you may have had the problem where if the MUD crashed or something, you would get incomplete pfiles, which in turn would lock up the MUD. Well, Zeos (owner of LG - high-velocity.org port 7777) did some research and looked at AFKmud's fread_word. He saw a difference, I didn't have a chance to test it, but I plan on doing so now. I figured I'd post the fix.
 bug( "Fread_word: word too long" );
    exit( 1 );
    return NULL;

should be
 bug( "Fread_word: word too long" );
    *pword = '\0';
   return word;

If anyone sees any problems please let me know.

It shouldn't be an issue to modify that. I modified it in AFKMud because I didn't see why a string that was too long should be enough to stop execution.

I tested it and all went well. The MUD didn't go into a loop or crash when an incomplete pfile logged on. But, this only works if the missing part stops below the End line above objects. Otherwise, it'll still loop. Working on that fix now.
