Bug: Crash when trying to hold an item with no wielded weapon
Danger: Critical - Game crash
Discovered in: AFKMud 1.77
Found by: Dut
Fixed by: Samson

---

act_obj.c, wear_obj

Locate:
         tmpobj = get_eq_char( ch, WEAR_WIELD );
         if( IS_OBJ_FLAG( tmpobj, ITEM_TWOHAND ) )
         {
            send_to_char( "You cannot hold something while wielding a two-handed weapon!\n\r", ch );
            return;
         }

Change to:
         tmpobj = get_eq_char( ch, WEAR_WIELD );
         if( tmpobj && IS_OBJ_FLAG( tmpobj, ITEM_TWOHAND ) )
         {
            send_to_char( "You cannot hold something while wielding a two-handed weapon!\n\r", ch );
            return;
         }

Oh what a difference a safety check can make! The problem here was initially discovered when Dut was trying out the archery code but obviously has other implications as well since it will crash upon attempting this with any held item it's tried with. It likely would have been caught sooner had we not fixed it in the 2.0 code at some unknown point in time.
