Hey,
Has anyone had a problem with the switch command crashing the mud? When we switch into the takeover mob for instance it reboot the mud on look.

I have the same problem. The mud crashes when I switch into the takeover mob, (or any mob in general) and attempt to type anything. (i.e. - look, score, etc., etc.)

After a bit of investigating, the switch crash has been found. To fix it, go into game_loop and locate:

			   case CON_PLAYING:
				   d->character->pcdata->cmd_recurse = 0;
				interpret( d->character, cmdline );
				break;


And replace that with:

			   case CON_PLAYING:
				if( d->original )
                           d->original->pcdata->cmd_recurse = 0;
				else
				   d->character->pcdata->cmd_recurse = 0;
				interpret( d->character, cmdline );
				break;


That'll fix things right up. This is only necessary on AFKMud 1.4 and 1.3 ( though 1.3 wasn't a public release ).

I had the same problem awhile back after installing the room flags/sector/filename snippet. It was an error on my part, but the problem was in the do_look function. It just needed a check for IS_NPC(ch) with explicit braces for that section because mobs don't have pcdatas. The fix for comm.c works too though.
