Got another groovy one discovered by a player the other night. In his inventory he had 4 or 5 scolls of the same type, not in containers. He had 1 in a container. He recited a scroll, and lost all the scrolls he had, with the exception of the one in the bag.

Another bug (feature?) we've got going on, players who are killed will lose 1-2 random items when they die. There's no message that this is happening to them, and it doesn't seem to be the same item every time.

I've looked through the code to see if I can figure out what's causing these, but there's either nothing in the code or I'm looking in the wrong spots.

I'm at work, so I can't confirm, but its sounds like a call to seperate_obj() is missing before obj_from_char() is called. This will remove the one object from the others, and extract just that one.

I am unable to confirm either scenario with our code, or with the copy of the release code we have sitting here.

The scroll thing is taking one scroll off each time, as it should.

The other thing may or may not be an issue but I've slain several loadup pfiles on my test port and none of them are randomly losing equipment.

Are you sure you haven't made some changes somewhere that might have disrupted the linked lists?

Positive there's been no changes - I've run a modified smaug since about '97, and just switched to the afk base 2 weeks ago. The only code changes I've done were to string outputs, since nearly everything that I'd added to my former code was stock in afk.
