I've been working on my AFK based mud and stumbled across the
ship creation commmands last night. I was making a ferry to sail across
a span of ocean to an island and I was using room progs so at
certain times certain rooms would create certain passages giving
the illusion of traveling over the ocean. With a few random
progs that told the player the ship was rocking on the sea and when it
landed and departed and what not, but I would like to change this to an actual ship that is controled by a mob that will sail the ship to the island and back. I think I have created a ship, but I have no idea how to gain
control of the ship to sail it. So if you could give a quick howto
to point me in the right direction with how to make a ship either I
or a mob could control it would help a great deal. I love the AFK mud
base, I switched from smaug mainly because the overland was already
implemented in AFK, but I have found so many more cool things. BTW I've played with the skyships and I plan to use them but for this I would just prefer to use an ocean ship if possible. Thanks.

As noted previously in the forums, the ships code (not skyships) is unfinished. Samson hasn't said any deadlines for when it'll be complete.

Your MudProg is probably the best way to handle it. If you have the newest AFKMud with keyword programs, you could even make the player sail the boat themselves by having keywords that they type in like commands trigger the programs in the rooms.
