I recently decided that I really wanted to start up a MUD that had zones reminiscent to the Nentir Vale areas of D&D 4e and figured that if I was going to do it right I would have to do it myself. I'm a great builder, but I lack somewhat at the coding and such. I can usually get a MUD up and running in short order, but for some reason the SMAUG1.9 version just isn't compiling and going up. When it comes to coding I can usually make edits, but fixing/writing code is something that is far beyond me still.

If anyone out there would be willing to give me some help, I would really appreciate it. I'm not really looking for a coder, but more of someone who can help me out when I have questions (though if you really want a place to code, I don't mind sharing).

Thanks!

Alright, I was able to get the game to compile after doing a ton of bug help searching. Now it's just adding insult to injury though, because it won't launch (the one thing I know how to do, heh). Here's what I'm getting (I included the directory as well to show that the file is there).

dir
act_comm.c const.c imm_host.c mud.h sha256.c
act_info.c count interp.c mud_prog.c sha256.h
act_move.c db.c lines news.c shops.c
act_obj.c deity.c liquids.c news.h shutdown.txt
act_wiz.c dependencies.d liquids.h nohup.out skills.c
ban.c dns.c magic.c o smaug
bet.h dns.h Makefile planes.c special.c
boards.c fight.c makeobjs.c planes.h splint.txt
build.c grind mapout.c player.c startup
calendar.c handler.c mapper.c polymorph.c tables.c
calendar.h hashstr.c mapper.h qstart track.c
chess.c hint.c mccp.c renumber.c update.c
chess.h hint.h mccp.h reset.c variables.c
clans.c hotboot.c misc.c resolver vg_suppress.supp
color.c hotboot.h mpxset.c resolver.c weather.c
color.h imc.c mssp.c resolver.o weather.h
comm.c imccfg.h mssp.h save.c
comments.c imc.h mud_comm.c services.c
[1]+ Exit 127 nohup ./startup 4000
username@host:~/smaug1.9/src$ nohup ./startup 4000 &
[1] 30992
username@host:~/smaug1.9/src$ nohup: ignoring input and appending output to `nohup.out'
nohup: failed to run command `./startup': No such file or directory

I tried it with the following startup locations:
startup
./startup
../src/startup
../../smaug1.9/src/startup

When I tap any of these files, they show up right away though, no clue what's going on. Any help?

Fixed, the issue was serverside. Game's up and running now.

Thanks for your help on this.
