After tweaking the code so that it would compile with SmaugFUSS 1.9 I'm getting a core dump whenever a player tries to use the delete command. Has anyone else experienced this and if so how did you fix it?

Use gdb, see what the issue is.

You'll need to work more on gdb, that isn't enough to determine anything.
