Hi guys,

I want to change the default colors for certain things like room description for new players to grey. Can I accomplish this with the color command? I'm not entirely sure if the command is intended for use by all and if it only affects each person's player file settings or if it's an immortal command used to define themes.

Please advise,

Hrm...okay, a couple things that come to mind..

First, the color command is player-specific. You CAN change the default, but I believe you have to do it in color.c.

Second, you can set the area default color with the aset command. From there, you can specify each room color by using the correct tokens. I believe gray is &z, with black as &Z. Just look at your color helpfile.

Cheers,
Aurin

Actually when color got updated to the newer one long ago and had themes added it became changeable online. Just set your colors the way you want the default and save the theme as default and there you go. They can always change the theme they use or set their own colors but they will all start with the ones you set for the default theme.

Ahh...haven't messed with color themes, as I never really thought it mattered much. I always used aset to set the area default color, then the tokens to specify alternate room text color. heh Good to know that it was added to the themes.
