If only Verizon was my local telco. *sigh* Not that I have any real complaints about my telco presently, but I don't see Windstream being in a hurry to upgrade their network to fiber anytime soon at all, especially out here. But FiOS would be really sweet, then I could give up on DirecTV & HughesNet, though I haven't really got any complaints about DirecTV either, but I'd rather do the bundle via serious bandwidth if I had a choice.
Edit: Just took a look at DirecTV's internet service AUP and they prohibit running servers or even setting up a lan behind their modems, so I guess even if they were willing to provide to me I'd be no better off. Though their FAP is a little better than HughesNet's, currently I'm limited to 425mb/day downstream, where DirecTV limits you to (for the same level of bandwidth) about 550mb downstream and 250mb upstream (I have no upstream limit presently) per day as determined by a 30 day rolling window (currently it's based on usage each day between 7am and 2am EST).
