And yes, we do most of our creation offline, then do any changes or edits (bug fixes, typo corrections, later area changes, etc) offline and do very little of any of it online anymore. We have a development port for that sort of thing, but it's usually easier to just deal with the whole area file at once in a text editor than to address each issue in the online tools.

With regards to the image saving, even a screen shot could work since it could be opened and edited/cropped after it's saved, but getting something to draw the map itself for me would be a big help.

As for how different the resets are, that gets a little complicated. I'm not sure how much Samson's done with AFK's resets, but SmaugFUSS uses a similar reset system (room based rather than area based like stock Smaug), so you're potentially talking about three different reset systems there.

The reset system in AFKMud should be the same format as used in FUSS and the reset patch. So there should be no technical difference in how they're stored in file. This *MAY* change with the KEY'd system but I'll figure that out when I get there.

It seems Nick Gammon has released "Area Editor"'s source code.

You can get the code using CVS

cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/jtalisman co talisman

An area editor for AFKMUD would me awesome

Appears as though the CVS link has changed:

cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@jtalisman.cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/jtalisman co -P talisman

But again, I know little about Java. So if anyone is expecting me to handle this, guess again :P

And yes, we're aware Gammon released the source to Area Editor, but it uses VC++ and I don't have access to that, nor do I particularly want access to it. Microsoft can shove their non-standard compiler shit up their asses :P
