Yes, it's me again ...

I'm trying to set exit descriptions on the exits in my tavern.
The problem is, they're only working for some of the directions, not others. The redit exdesc dir desc command says that it's setting the description for them, but when I look at some, I don't see anything, I just get the nothing special message.

Just to be really frustrating, rstat doesn't display exdesc's.

After some experimentation, it appears that it's two specific directions are the problem, west and south, when you use abbreviations. i.e. l w and l s. I don't know if this is a bug, but I know I don't know coding enough to try and find it.

Also, there doesn't appear to be a roomflag "light", or a way to set the light level in a room.

I vaguely recall having made some kind of switch in the order of how the look command did things. If you have anything in your inventory with a keyword beginning with "w" or "s" then this will cause you that problem. Same holds for anything else that would match the direction. I'm honestly no longer sure why this step was taken so it may get reversed in a future patch. Will need to put it into testing to see. In the meantime, just spell out the direction completely and it'll work around it.

Ahh, now it makes sense.

Come to think of it, the mod sort of makes sense as well. If the priority is inventory first, then it makes it easier for people (I think) for people to look through piles of stuff found in rooms. I just don't know too many people who use the full direction names when they're looking ahead, though.

This is just a suggestion, so please feel totally free to want to eviscerate me before casting my eternal spirit into the darkest depths of the nine hells for coming up with it, but would changing the commands a little be any use?

Basically, change the syntax a little so that players use look at or l at to do inventory looks, and look or l on its own would use the old way for looking in the room or in the direction stated? I have no idea how easy that would be to code, not knowing C (yet), but I'm sure you could check the first argument given after a command and check to see if it matches "at". Maybe add a second abbreviated command, "la", that translates to "look at" for those who like very short commands ...

Thanks for letting me know it wasn't just my imagination, though
