OK so I got AFKMud running happily after a long fight with cygwin in which I won.
and it is now hour three of being at 4 o'clock am day of agoras first day in the month of olympias, I have checked the time code that I used in smaug by referencing the first post I made, and everything looked fine, and beyond that I have yet to see any weather changes, is the time and weather system only active if there are actual players logged in or will it still tick if there are only immortals online?

Thanks again for everyone's (Kayle's) patience.

also sorry for the wrong forum, accidentally just hit new topic in one of my other topics.
mod if you could move this I'd appreciate it.

Yeah, you need actual players logged on for time to advance. The main reason that was done is somewhat pathetic in a way. It was because Alsherok was going for very long periods with no players logging on and when they finally did the calendar would have advanced so far that they'd age. So I made the code suspend time advancement, as well as most other functions, when nobody but imms are online.

No no see that is good though, Cause I plan on using this as a well a long distance D&D game between me and some of my close friends, makes it easy on me to build in the world without having time pass. Thanks.

One last question, you wouldn't happen to have any tips on building overland maps would you. And why does the continent have 500 vnums set to it?

If time is an important issue, it might be worth your while to have functions to manually set the in-character world time. Not too hard, really.

You could try having a little more patience than 2 hours in the middle of the night. If I get the chance I'll consider snippetizing it.

In this environment, the best way to get something that you need soon is usually to do it yourself, and if you don't know how, to learn how  It is not very wise to "expect" snippets. Treat them as fortunate gifts -- not as something that will necessarily happen for useful features.

I wasn't trying to come off as expecting it, I am sorry if I did.
