I wasn't exactly sure where I should post this request since there's not really a board for requests, but I was wondering if you could put in a prototype ships directory in the swfote directory so that I can start uploading my prototype ships as I finish them. Thanks in advance.

Thanks, I'll probably start uploading tomorrow... errr... today but later, my shift today starts at 11pm central time so that's when I'll upload them.

I just uploaded a few prototype ships to the swfote/prototype ships directory. All are starfighters/bombers but I have some larger projects in the works and will release them as they get finished.

No problem, it's just some stuff I threw together between getting off work and going to sleep. I'm gonna need to think of how I'm going to plot out my larger ships now cause that's what I'm going to release next is some freighters. Eventually there will be a bunch of each type of ship but for now I'm just doing a few of each type.

I don't know if you'd want to do this, but I have implemented an OLC ship prototype creation system. Haven't throughly tested it. But it's in, and you can build the prototype like working on an area, and see the finished product as doing it. If you want I Can give you a builder on my game and let you make all the proto's you want, I'll give you the proto files to release, the only catch is that I get to keep using them as well *smirk*. Anywho, I don't have any real pbase, so it wouldn't bother me if you'd wanna do that. I think it would make it easier for you to do, as well as give me someone to talk to for a bit.

Anyhow, just throwing that out there.

On a diff note, the E-Wing and K-wing have the same room name as the h-60. I'm pretty sure you didn't mean to do that.

The K-Wing also has a typo in the room desc
while fulfillings its primary mission

I think should be fulfilling

Other than that, they look good. Keep up the good work.

Well I do like the idea of a proto ship olc but I tend to have more time and patience for that when I'm at home not at work and since I don't have internet access at home that wouldn't work really. I can always get on and talk to ya though, I tend to get bored between spurts of business.

Are you going to release that olc as a snippet or is it going into the next swfote release? I'm currently using swfotefuss 1.3 for my testing needs but if you have a version that's got an olc for proto ships then I'll use that for this purpose.

Heh wow I didn't even notice that. Thats what I get for trying to do a few ships after working a 10 hour shift. I'll upload fixed versions and you can go ahead and delete the buggy ones.

heh ok i'll re-upload, got the room desc fixed on the k-wing now too.

[edit to add] huh funny the prototype ships directory shows that it only has 1 file in it but it has 3 (till you approve my uploads) thats odd.

I was planning on it eventually. I just haven't had the urge to build enough ships to test the system out. And of course, the urge to make it all into a nice neat snippet. Also, Not sure if you saw in the above post, but I saw a typo in the kwing file.

By the way, you have my full blessing to go ahead and put these and any other prototype ship I release into your next version of swfote. This goes for swfotefuss as well obviously. By the way, is there a way to make a ship only available through the black market? Cause I found some info on one ship that was only available on the black market and it looked like an interesting ship. If there's not a way to do that yet, there's a new idea for a feature on the next release of swfote.

I believe that currently, ships have to be sold to the black market to be listed there.

Selling works but the mud auto-generates a new blackmarket.lst on startup. Maybe some code could be added to that function to put one specific ship in the black market every time as well as adding the two random clan ships. I just have no clue where that bit of code would be. I really gotta start digging in the swfote source some more since I love the game so much.

[edit to add] man I must have eaten something funny today, I'm making small mistakes left and right. Edited to fix the first word of this post lol.

What's the addy? I can say I'll be a player, but for some reason lately, every time I try to play a mud, even the few good ones I've found, I just stop playing it after a few days. I don't know why, I guess I've lost my interest in playing muds. I get more fun out of playing with the code and just doing random little projects like my ship building project. I'll definitely log on though and at least talk to ya even if I don't really play much.
