I have a NPC that I want to build that is a maid. Her job will be to basicly clean up the house I have built. Either I'll give her a feather duster or a broom to do it with. I may even make her a bit of a thief of player character. But... as I was playing with ORB to try and make my first mob I saw these special functions.

So i looked throught the list and there was one called spec_janitor. well that sounded like what I was looking for. This brought up a question. What are these special functions? How do I find them in the code base, and when I do will I be able to tell what they do?

Thanks in advance.

Basically, spec_funcs are special actions for your mobs to perform. For instance, there is a spec_cast_adept spec_func that has a random chance of casting various heal type spells on anyone in the room with them.

Similarly, characters that cast spells in combat are often given spec_cast_mage (I think thats the name, anyway).

You can see the list of them in mspecial.h whilst the code for them is contained in mspecial.c

If this doesn't answer your question, feel free to ask some more
