Well i tried this the obvious way...to no avail. I see that my MAX_SKILL level is set to 150. Characters can have class levels go UP to 200, wanted to be able to set some of the skills OVER 100 and mortals still be able to use them. Currently I'm stumped what I have to do to increase these and still have them available to the mortal players instead of all of the skills being crammed between lvl 2 and 100

Did you change MAX_SKILL in mud.h? If so, that's not what you're looking for, MAX_SKILL in mud.h is the total number of skills that you can create, not the level that you can set them at. You should just be able to sset the minlevel of the skill in question to whatever you want it to be. But you also might want to make sure that your immortal levels start higher than the max that a player can achieve in any one discipline, otherwise, that might interfere with the levels you're assigning. Ala:

      if( !str_cmp( arg2, "minlevel" ) )
      {
         skill->min_level = URANGE( 1, atoi( argument ), MAX_LEVEL );
         send_to_char( "Ok.\r\n", ch );
         return;
      }

If your MAX_LEVEL is 105, and then your immortal levels start at 101, even if your mortals can reach level 200, it won't let you change the level of the skill over 105.

yeah MAX_SKILL_LEVEL is set at 150, Admin levels run from 101 - 110. of the different classes morts can reach up to 200 in each depending on attributes etc etc

Hmm. What version of SWR are you using exactly? I'll grab the source and see if I can figure it out. but the copy of SWR I have doesn't have a MAX_SKILL_LEVEL value. just MAX_SKILL and MAX_LEVEL.

actually after a little trial and error I found that the mort could still learn the skill/spell it just wouldn't pop up on the Slist so i did some digging and removed this:

act_info.c, do_slist

if ((hilev<0) || (hilev>=LEVEL_IMMORTAL))
hilev=LEVEL_HERO;

This fixed the problem I was having. All Players can now see the skill ON the skills list/practice list and can practice/use
