Hi,

I'm looking at continents,

I1) Taking the example continent of one.. that comes with afkmud:

if I create a room with vnum say 21101.. i am standing in that
room.. and i now want to link an exit to say.. map one with coords 500 499..
what is the command exactly? if i use redit bexit.. where am I pointing
the door too? Or does the map location at coord 500 499 have a vnum?

It seems simple enough to use setexit command to open a door from the map
to a vnum but i can never seem to go back to where i came from.. ie the map..

thanks again

To go from area to map the procedure is such, using your vnum 21101 as an example, you also have to aset the correct continent name as well, so that the area belongs to that continent.

rset bexit e 21101
rset exflags e overland
rset excoord e 500 499
folda area_name.are

To go from the map back to the area standing on 500 499

setexit create
setexit 21101
mapedit save

Oh you might not have rset, i changed redit to be rset sometime ago in my base to be more consistant with oset and mset.

thanks fury, i will give it a whirl... so areas have to 'belong' to continents.. hmm..

i did all that.. but i get Woops. Something is majorly wrong here - inform the immortals when i try
to go east to the overland..

missing!

Ok instead of testing from immarea i made my own area with new vnum and that linked fine :)

So the crux is linking the area to a continent. can you tell me where exactly where that occurs?
Why for instance was the new vnum range i just created automatically linked to continent one?
