I'm definitely interested in fixing the area formats and making them like those on SMAUG 1.8.
Anyone have any idea how hard it is to do this and some things I need to look out for?

Well, one of the main pitfalls to watch out for, is making sure you don't miss anything. Other than that, the easiest way might be to just look at the SmaugFUSS 1.8 formats, and the code behind it and go step by step through the process.

Maybe one of these days we'll get around to updating the SWR branches with some of the newer stuff from Smaug. :P

Haha, I'm working on updating a lot of the stuff in SWR to whats on SMAUG.
There are a lot of things that need improvement. I've already been converting flags to extended bitvectors, which isn't hard at all, just time consuming.
