Hello,

I am wondering if anyone else out there has used the Chronicles 2.0a snippet for experience. If so, has anyone run into a random bug that players get 1/10 of normal experience for no apparant reason? I have snooped players, and verified that even after clearing exp buffer and attacking mobs higher level the players who catch this bug are reduced to 1/10 or less exp gains. i have completely gone over the exp code for the snippet several times, see nothing wrong that would cause this. It doesn't affect all players, just radomly hits a player somewhere betwen level 10, and 20ish. I have made a temporary fix to overide this bug on players that get affected until a solution is found.

What did the changes consist of? Personaly I have found that if you change the experience stuff to double you can have way more levels then most would ever have a need for :)

Well we are 200 player levels. However what do you mean by changes? This is the same code I have had for years. I never noticed the xp bug, just recently a few players mentioned it. I didn't adjust experience from the old code, so unless something weird is affecting it, or it was there all along, and nobody ever reported it, which is what I think. Because a player told me, that he left us last time because he found the exp bug, but never said anything about it. I'll keep looking over the code, it's probablly on my end, however was curious if anyone had run into problems with it, if they used it.

Most the places to check should be fairly limited, start in fight.c where it gives out experience per hit (if its per hit exp its giving trouble) or if its death start with the exp it gives out when they die. It might end up being a problem in update.c in the gain_exp function. Short of seeing what all code it uses it's hard to check into and well I'm not about to download the base to check it all :)
