When I am switched into a mob and that mob is killed in combat, it disconnects me from the mud. It would be better if it simply forced me back into my immortal body, because it also won't let me log back in, saying that I am already connected.

Heh, oddly enough, we tend to agree. Time to do some bughunting since this isn't the intended result

After a bit of checking, the fix has been found and appears to work - I've switched into several mobs and killed them and had it return me to the original body just fine.

In fight.c, find:

   /* Take care of morphed characters */
   if( victim->morph )
   {
      do_unmorph_char( victim );
      raw_kill( ch, victim );
      return;
   }

And directly below this, add:

   /* Deal with switched imms */
   if( victim->desc && victim->desc->original )
   {
	CHAR_DATA *temp = victim;

	interpret( victim, "return" );
	raw_kill( ch, temp );
	return;
   }

May be a semi-hackish looking fix but it works. Not sure how this extends to other Smaug derivs, but this will fix the problem in AFKMud.
