Bug: Startup script does not properly stop itself if need be.
Danger: MAXIMUM
Found by: Anyone who has accidentally started two scripts
Fixed by: Orion Elder, Samson, Tarl
-----
[startup]

Find this section:

    # Record initial charges
    # charges >> $logfile

    # Run SMAUG.
    ../src/smaug $port >&! $logfile
# ../src/smaug >>&! $logfile

    # Record ending charges
    # charges >> $logfile

Replace that with:

    # Run SMAUG.
    # Check if already running
    set matches = `netstat -an | grep ":$port " | grep -c LISTEN`
    if ( $matches >= 1 ) then
        # Already running
echo Port $port is already in use.
        exit 0
    endif
    ../src/smaug $port >&! $logfile

This will stop the script if something is listening to the port the MUD is trying to open. Also, please note the punctuation before $port in the grep section, as it varies from system to system.

Edit by Samson: I liked this error message better :)
