I don't think the recent bug fix for SWR regarding not having a shield and two other things wield/held. In the Star Wars universe, there were personal shields that were commonly attached to a persons belt, or sometimes ina back pack form, but you could easily wield two weapons and have a personal shield at the same time. I see how this would affect an actual help shield, but an energy shield in SW is quite different.

Well those should probably be dealt with in the form of an affect and not be hacked into a body slot. The shield fix is meant to handle items that are actually flagged as held shields, which is what the ITEM_SHIELD wear flag is mean to designate.

That is exactly what I'm talking about, though. Items with type armor, wear locations of shields. In my SWR playing experiences, where you have a shield on your character is an entirely seperate place than any other armor, weapons, etc. I have never seen a held shield in any SWR that I have played. It should have its own wear location as it is a different form of defense than standard armor, and still allows ease of movement. Maybe it's just me, but some feed back from other SWR coders would help clarify one way or another.

Since no shields were used in the films, the best that I can equate it to is the personal shields used in the Dune series, either the books, the original David Lynch movies, or the more recent Dune and Children of Dune series.

But in the films, the Gungadin had hand held (albeit see-thru like glass) tower shields.

True, but SWR's not really based off the first three movies, as there would be alot different, it is based on the original episodes, 4-6, and the books.

Ok, I was just throwing my two cents in, but I really don't know SWR at all, my focus has always been medieval fantasy. *shrug*

The fixes have been edited accordingly - the shield slot will not be considered as one of the conditions.
